Meta video ads

Video ads built for Facebook and Instagram

Meta puts one ad in front of people in several places at once: the feed, Reels and Stories. We make each ad in the shapes those placements need, with angles chosen from what is already selling in your account and your market.

What tends to work on Meta

Meta's system decides who sees your ad. What you control is the creative. In practice that makes the ad itself the biggest lever most brands have, and it is why fresh angles matter more than small budget tweaks.

We start by reading what is already working. That means your live Meta ads, plus your competitors' longest-running ads in the Meta Ad Library. An ad a brand keeps paying to run for months is usually earning its place. Our research page on how long DTC brands keep the same ad running explains why we look there first.

From there we make every angle: an offer ad, a UGC-style ad, a product demo, a meme and a testimonial. Different people respond to different reasons to buy, and Meta can only find those people if the ads give it options.

Placements and sizes, in brief

Reels and Stories are full-screen and vertical, so they need 9:16. The Facebook feed suits 4:5, which fills more of the screen than a square. Some placements still use 1:1. We deliver all three for every ad instead of cropping one into the others, which tends to cut off faces, products or captions.

Our Meta ads creative specs guide has the full table, Meta's own figures and the date we last checked them.

Testing on Meta without wasting budget

When a new ad set starts, Meta goes through a learning phase while it works out who to show the ads to. Results swing during that period, so judging an ad on its first day or two usually misleads you.

Give each test a clear question, such as which hook works best, and change one thing at a time. Then cut the losers and move budget to the winner. Our guide to creative testing on Meta and TikTok sets out the full method.

To read the results, Performance analytics ranks every ad in your Meta account by spend, CPA and ROAS, and shows which hooks and formats carry the account. CPA is what you pay for each sale; ROAS is the revenue you get back for each dollar of ad spend. The connection is read-only.

Questions, answered.

Do you launch the ads in Ads Manager?

No. You download the finished files and upload them yourself, or your agency does. We never change your campaigns.

Can these ads run on Facebook and Instagram at the same time?

Yes. Because each ad comes in 9:16, 4:5 and 1:1, one ad can cover feed, Reels and Stories on both apps.

Which integrations help with Meta?

The app connects to Facebook and Instagram, as well as Shopify, WooCommerce and Klaviyo. The integrations page lists them all.

What if none of the ads beat my current best?

Keep the winner running and test new hooks against it. Each round tells you more about what your buyers respond to.
